Two more murder arrests after boy, 14, shot dead
Following a fatal shooting in Woolwich, two additional suspects were taken into custody on murder charges. The victim, 14-year-old Eghosa Ogbebor, succumbed to his injuries at the scene on Lord Warwick Street around 15:40 BST on Thursday.
On Saturday, the Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old individual. Additionally, a 46-year-old man was detained for allegedly aiding the perpetrator.
“Residents in Woolwich might have observed heightened police presence overnight, with three additional suspects apprehended in relation to the case,” Card explained. “We recognize the worry Eghosa’s passing has generated, especially within the local community, which will experience ongoing patrols in the vicinity.” She encouraged the public to reach out to authorities with any relevant information or observations of unusual behavior in the area.
Earlier that week, three individuals were detained on murder charges, including two minors aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man. All three have since been granted bail.
