Dan Walker to appear at tribunal as ex co-host brings bullying claim
Ex Co-Host Files Bullying Claim Against Dan Walker at Employment Tribunal
Former Channel 5 News co-host Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije has initiated a legal case against TV presenter Dan Walker, with the employment tribunal set to proceed as Walker is expected to testify. The claim, which Vanderpuije’s legal team has outlined, alleges workplace bullying during their shared tenure on the news program. ITN, the production company behind Channel 5 News, and Paramount, the network’s parent company, are also included as respondents to the case.
According to The Mail on Sunday, the allegations extend beyond bullying to encompass claims of sexism and misogyny. An ITN spokesperson has confirmed the company’s stance, stating the accusations are “denied in full.” Both Walker and Paramount have yet to provide formal statements, though the newspaper reports that Walker has compiled over 50 character references to support his defense.
“This claim, which is denied in full, will be addressed through the tribunal process,” said the ITN representative, as reported by BBC News.
Vanderpuije, who previously hosted BBC Breakfast, joined Walker as a co-host on Channel 5 News in 2022. She departed the network in 2024, marking the end of their collaboration. The tribunal trial, scheduled to begin in London on 20 April, will span five weeks, with Jonathan Coad, Vanderpuije’s lawyer, confirming the timeline.
