With the UK basking in sunny weather, the upcoming summer festival season is already in full swing. While Glastonbury takes a break this year, music lovers still have a vibrant lineup of events to choose from. From sprawling multi-day spectacles to single-day gatherings, there’s something for every genre and preference. Here’s a breakdown of the key highlights.

Major Festival Line-Ups

Reading and Leeds Festival returns in late August with a star-studded six-headliner lineup, all from the UK and Ireland. Charli XCX, Chase & Status, Dave, Florence + The Machine, Fontaines D.C., and Raye will anchor the event, while Leeds gets an exclusive Thursday night performance by Kasabian. For those craving a coastal vibe, Boardmasters in Cornwall will host Fatboy Slim, Lily Allen, and The Kooks from 5 to 9 August.

The Isle of Wight Festival offers a mix of acts from June 18 to 21, featuring Lewis Capaldi, The Cure, and Teddy Swims. Meanwhile, TRNSMT in Glasgow provides a non-camping alternative with a three-day lineup including CMAT, Wolf Alice, and Two Door Cinema Club. BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend will take place in Sunderland from May 22 to 24, welcoming Olivia Dean, Zara Larsson, and Niall Horan.

Genre-Specific Events

Rock and alternative enthusiasts will find their fix at Download Festival, set for June 12 to 14 in the East Midlands. Headliners like Limp Bizkit, Guns N’ Roses, and Linkin Park will dominate the stage. If indie vibes are your priority, Kendal Calling in the Lake District will showcase Biffy Clyro, Wolf Alice, and The Libertines from July 30 to August 2.

Dance music fans have several options, including Creamfields in Cheshire (August 27–30) with Swedish House Mafia, Martin Garrix, and Armin van Buuren. Lovebox Festival makes a comeback in Margate, Kent, on May 29–30, featuring Rudimental, Armand Van Helden, and Groove Armada. New locations like Silverworks Island in East London and Labyrinth on the Thames add fresh spots for festivalgoers. Silverworks hosts Pendulum, Fisher, and Tiesto in June and July, while Labyrinth brings Dom Dolla, Peggy Gou, and Michael Bibi to Greenwich’s iconic setting.

Regional Highlights

Manchester’s Parklife Festival features Calvin Harris, Skepta, and Sammy Virji on June 20–21, while Boomtown in Hampshire will draw Skrillex, Four Tet, and Faithless from August 12–16. A new festival series, Roundhay, debuts in Leeds with Pitbull and Lewis Capaldi leading the July lineup. For a relaxed, non-camping experience, BST Hyde Park in London will host Maroon 5, Mumford & Sons, and Garth Brooks across late June and early July.

Whether you prefer weekend-long immersion or shorter, more intimate events, the 2026 season promises diverse options. With everything from indie rock to dance anthems, there’s no shortage of opportunities to enjoy the UK’s vibrant music culture.
